Working with the team at Great British Kitchens & Interiors was something of a reunion for us, as our Technical Director had created a website for them some years ago. Their website had since gone through several design changes, but the current design was starting to creak at the seams and the owner was concerned about their Google ranking dipping.
We were brought in to redesign the website to ensure that it worked perfectly on desktop and mobile, and showcased their wonderful photography. Just as importantly we needed to redress some of the issues with Google ranking.
While the photography was an essential part of the new website design, we were also keen that text content wasn’t forgotten, both to add extra interest for readers and to ensure that Google fully understood the business and its many services. With this in mind, we expanded the text content, but retained full width photography to really show off the great interior designs this company creates.
It was also important to drive people to visit the showroom, so we ensured that the showroom details and map were at the bottom of the page, and that the showroom itself had a dedicated page on the website in the top level navigation.
When setting up the website we made sure that the underlying configuration optimised Google’s ability to understand and value the site.
Beyond the website design we started work on a retained basis to support Great British Kitchens & Interiors’ long term SEO objectives. Our work includes writing for the blog and ongoing monitoring and improvement of search engine positioning, including Google Ads advertising to support specific objectives.
The new website is clean, slick and perfectly showcases Great British Kitchens & Interiors’ designs.
Their SEO position was maintained at launch and has been gradually improving since, with the addition of new content via the blog and strategic changes to the main website, in order to target particular search terms and locations. In addition a low level Google Ads campaign is being maintained to ensure a strong presence in Google even where they are not at the top of the organic search results.
